The day of light !!

In the bright, sunny city Andvil lived a Ninja called Jay. The city was a joyful and safe place where children could go down and play by themselves !!

But one fateful day, an evil doctor called Dr. Smoke understood that a lot of electricity was being generated there. His only ambition was to take over the world. So he went into a power station and plugged all the wires into  gadget. After that he went into each power station doing the same until he got to the last biggest power station. He was scared becaus a ninja army was protecting it. The only option he had was to go underground, so he entered the powerstation by digging an underground tunnel.

The bright sunny days were turned into dark gloomy ones. And when he took off the last plug, the city became pitch black All the people gasped as they lit a candle or used torch.

The ninja, Jay, was on his way to Dr. Smoke's lab. He had a lightning badge to represent his attacks. He was as fast as a thunderbolt !!! ZZZZZZZ

But when he got there.....he got trapped in a carbyne cage. Fact : Carbyne is the strongest material in the world. He had a little window that he broke. He waited for 15 min, when he got the idea to cut the roof open and pull and evil plug that would make Dr. Smoke become good and distribute the electricity back to the correct station.

The next day was Jay's birthday. They celebrated the end of Dr. Smoke and called it "THE DAY OF LIGHT".

Uttarayan - The kite flying festival of India

I really enjoyed this art that we made for a special festival called "Sankranti, celebrated on 14th Jan each year. It marks end of cold, dreary winter and arrival of spring.

What is Sankrant ?

It is a harvest festival. Farmers celebrate their happiness and welcome this season of new crops.
Sankranti is also called Uttarayana in India, which means movement of sun (rays) to North. It is considered a day of new, good, healthy, wealthy beginnings.

How is it celebrated ?
In many parts of India, it is celebrated by flying kites for the whole day, because the sunrays on this day are supposed to be very healthy. Mum made some yummy Indian sweets called "tilgul laddoos" for the festival.

Mum showed me some youtube videos and explained to me how seasons change. Seasons are mainly caused by the tilting of earth on its axis. It was a bit complicated, but I understood most of it.

Summer is a long way off here in UK. Right now it is super cold, we had snow today ! BRRRRR...., It is summer in Australia, where it is scorching hot. Australia is on the other side of the axis and it is currently facing direct sunrays. But slowly, that will change and the northern hemisphere will face sun.
