Rescue of the Aliens

We had landed on a hard, rocky planet with lots of craters. We started looking around, taking care where we step and found that one of the craters was more than a mile deep! Me and Mary (my space partner) decided to explore the deep, dark hole, so we put on our latest technology suction boots and waddled down the hole. Our suction boots helped us to stick to the wall. We had trained for 6 months to balance in them.

When we reached the bottom, I picked up some strange stones for study, and then we got out our brushing machine. Just as I started brushing the dust, it cracked some of the stone and we saw a strange kind of A, B, C, D writing on it. It was very hard to read it because of the curly-wurly lines on the stone. I brushed the A, B, C, D and guess what?!!!

A green flash came and the floor started to crack... slowly and more slowly. We could hear a loud, buzzing sound under our feet that made us feel kind of dizzy. Then there was a loud snap! And we fell at 15mph! We were tumbling down and one of the cold stones I had collected was thrown away.

It was very dark, and we had to squint to see anything. When we got to see properly, we saw a large slimy puddle. We were going to land in it! Splash! Splash! Splash! We landed in the sticky gel. We had to do our highest jumps to get out so that we would not be trapped. The walls of the hole were filled with paint-like splats.

They felt like goo. We got out our spades to dig out some of the goo, but just then an odd squishy sound came and the goo transformed into an alien! And many more little aliens came out of the goo!

The master alien had a white furry hood and the rest of them were the colour of dark tree barks. Their body was very skinny. Their eyes were small and green. Their hands had suction pads at the tips of their fingers. The master's antennas were covered with the hood.

The master alien spoke in a squeaky, robotic voice, 'W-e a-r-e t-i-r-e-d o-f l-i-v-i-n-g h-e-r-e!'

I was scared at first but then I said, 'OK. Let's go!'

'H-o-w?'

'Don't worry. I have a plan.'

I got a gas pipe from my backpack and sprayed it. Because of the gas, a small volcano exploded, the land tilted and made it into a staircase for us. We came out of the deep hole with the aliens. They were very happy and we said bye to them.

The alien master thanked me with a golden trophy. It was shaped like a goo splat. Mary drove us back to Earth in our spaceship.

The day of light !!

In the bright, sunny city Andvil lived a Ninja called Jay. The city was a joyful and safe place where children could go down and play by themselves !!

But one fateful day, an evil doctor called Dr. Smoke understood that a lot of electricity was being generated there. His only ambition was to take over the world. So he went into a power station and plugged all the wires into  gadget. After that he went into each power station doing the same until he got to the last biggest power station. He was scared becaus a ninja army was protecting it. The only option he had was to go underground, so he entered the powerstation by digging an underground tunnel.

The bright sunny days were turned into dark gloomy ones. And when he took off the last plug, the city became pitch black All the people gasped as they lit a candle or used torch.

The ninja, Jay, was on his way to Dr. Smoke's lab. He had a lightning badge to represent his attacks. He was as fast as a thunderbolt !!! ZZZZZZZ

But when he got there.....he got trapped in a carbyne cage. Fact : Carbyne is the strongest material in the world. He had a little window that he broke. He waited for 15 min, when he got the idea to cut the roof open and pull and evil plug that would make Dr. Smoke become good and distribute the electricity back to the correct station.

The next day was Jay's birthday. They celebrated the end of Dr. Smoke and called it "THE DAY OF LIGHT".

Uttarayan - The kite flying festival of India

I really enjoyed this art that we made for a special festival called "Sankranti, celebrated on 14th Jan each year. It marks end of cold, dreary winter and arrival of spring.

What is Sankrant ?

It is a harvest festival. Farmers celebrate their happiness and welcome this season of new crops.
Sankranti is also called Uttarayana in India, which means movement of sun (rays) to North. It is considered a day of new, good, healthy, wealthy beginnings.

How is it celebrated ?
In many parts of India, it is celebrated by flying kites for the whole day, because the sunrays on this day are supposed to be very healthy. Mum made some yummy Indian sweets called "tilgul laddoos" for the festival.

Mum showed me some youtube videos and explained to me how seasons change. Seasons are mainly caused by the tilting of earth on its axis. It was a bit complicated, but I understood most of it.

Summer is a long way off here in UK. Right now it is super cold, we had snow today ! BRRRRR...., It is summer in Australia, where it is scorching hot. Australia is on the other side of the axis and it is currently facing direct sunrays. But slowly, that will change and the northern hemisphere will face sun.
